Lesson 7 Hiragana (ha - hi - fu - he - ho)

The 5th set of Hiragana is the Monographs (gojūon) combinations with h. Each vowel (a - i - e- o - u) gets paired with the consonant to form a new syllable. The only exception in this set is that the sound 'hu' does not feature and is relpaced with 'fu' (The pronounication lies somewhere between hu and fu).

'ha' is pronounced "wa" when it is immediately follows the subject. It is usually only pronounced "ha" when it is a part of a word.

1. ha

2. hi
3. fu

4. he
5. ho
